About Us
Candover Gallery is owned and run by potter and former pottery teacher Barbara Ling. It is housed in a 200 year old listed building in Alresford, one of Hampshire's attractive towns. It displays contemporary ceramics and glass pieces by more than thirty of the best craftsmen in Britain, whose work, as befits tomorrow's antiques, is
represented in many private and public collections including the Victoria and Albert Museum. Established since 1984 it has a reputation for the quality of the work sold, for its presentation, and for the warm welcome and in-depth knowledge of contemporary work of its owner and staff.

Alresford
Mentioned in the Domesday Book, Alresford is a town with many historical connections stretching back over a thousand years. The decisive battle of the Civil War was fought at nearby Cheriton in 1644 and Oliver Cromwell slept in the Swan Inn. It is also renowned for its watercress beds and 16th century fulling mills.

The town has some of the best eating places in Hampshire and has many privately owned specialist shops. Winchester with its famous cathedral, castle, city walls, college and museums is only fifteen minutes' away.
